Become A Home Based Medical Transcriptionist

Medical Transcription is one of the largest home based jobs available. The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics states "Employment of medical transcriptions is projected to grow faster than average for all occupations through 2014. Demand for medical transcription services will be spurred by a growing and aging population." While there is allot of competition for the jobs if you earn the right qualifications, the odds of getting work is greatly in your favor.

Get the training you need. With all the competition on work from home jobs it is best to get on the job training and formal training before trying to find home based work. Contact your community college or vocational school to find out what they offer in medical transcription training. If you opt out of getting training you will need more then five to ten years of on the job training in office before you will be able to find home based employment.

As you will quickly find out it is hard to get a position with a formal company if you have not had at least six months of home based medical transcription work.

Legitimate companies that are searching for Transcriptions will require you to pass personal and educational background checks before you will even get your first assignment.
